Trivia train of thought
I don't like a lot of vampire movies. One amazing one is the F.W. Murnau's classic silent film "Nosferatu, eine Symphonie Grauens" (more commonly just called "Nosfuratu," cause I mean, come on) in which Max Shreck plays the horrifying "Count Orlock" (a legally plagiarized Count Dracula). The great dark comedy "Shadow of the Vampire," was based on the Hollywood legend that Shreck not hadn't made any other movies before, but his chilling performance was due to his actually being a real vampire. "Shadow of the Vampire," featured John Malkovich as an overzealous film-maker and Willem Dafoe as Shreck, in this case a real vampire. This makes Dafoe one of the few actors to portray both Jesus Christ and some form of Count Dracula.

Dafoe (who's real name is "William," but kept it due to an interesting type-o) was originally considered for the role of the Joker in Tim Burton's 1989 "Batman." Oddly enough, its sequel "Batman Returns," featured equally creepy character actor Christopher Walken as a character also named "Max Shreck."

Oh man I saw Nosferatu at this tiny cafe back at my college and it was wonderful. It was perhaps the first and maybe even only silent film I've seen and I believe there were some musicians that played mood music for it, too. That was an awesome Halloween.

yes. putting him in my pocket forever. fantastic movies, though i've only seen either of them once. yeah he doesn't seem to strike me as a huge horror movie freak, you know?

max's (short for Maximilian)last name schreck means 'terror" or 'horror' in german. glad to hear that patrick likes this film. it's one of my favs too. very creepy.
